Wish all FGA members A Happy New Year 2018!!
We closed 2017 with 56% growth in number of persons, increased our team from 1,187 to 1,847 (HN/HL: 1,244, HCM: 397, DN: 206).
2017 is a crazy year for FGA: business with LG and NXP grew at all time high rate; We won projects from another Tier-1 in Korean market: WindRiver; We won the first project from Chinese market with the top Tier-1 client: Harman; We won projects directly from the top semiconductor company: Renesas (Japan); The long time expected project from Mitsubishi did not happen since the client themselves lost it to other Tier-1; Some projects with Japanese clients faced many challenges due to new competitors from India. It's what we called business! You did great, be proud of what you'd been doing last year.
During 2017, we detected a lot of obstacles for us to go up to next level: 1/ The capability to make high quality products as mass production; 2/ Lacking experience for some sub-domain of automotive industry like Telematics; Testing automation including HILS (Hard-ware In the Loop Simulation); Design (CAD); Analysis (CAE). We are going to fix them.
One-hundred millions line of codes will be deployed to a car in very near future. It's time for SOFTWARE DEFINED CARS. The companies that have strong automotive software development expertise will lead the automotive world.
We are aiming "TO BECOME A SOFTWARE TIER-1" - it means that we will work directly with car makers (OEMs) at software areas. We will spend this year 2018 to strengthen our capability that will result in more projects directly ordered from OEMs, ranging from traditional Embedded/CAD/CAE/LSI to IT/Data Analytics/AI/Blockchain. Blockchain? Yes, Blockchain - it's going to change our life and industries, including Automotive.
Our objective of 2018 is increasing productivity, it means that less number of persons will do more volume of works - resulting in higher benefit for each individual. We will apply as many as possible new model of delivering projects: KHOÁN (project members earn on project profit)
FGA must be a learning organization. Keep learning new things everyday! We will do following programs:
1/ Enhance English & Soft skill.
2/ Baseline capacity & knowledge of employee (focus on C/C++, Testing, PM)
3/ Enhance technical skills (Android/Qt/Testing/Project Management).
4/ Manage / track learning & training progress of all FGA member by tools.
5/ Create knowledge sharing portals (training materials, experiences, lessons, failures)
6/ Collaborating with universities (Include R&D).
